Life insurance represents a key corner of the financial planning space in need of more education. Nearly three in five consumers (59%) own some form of life insurance, according to LIMRA’s 2018 Insurance Barometer Study. Yet, common questions persist, especially over the industry’s constant use of jargon.

My colleague, Christina, recently volunteered at a local elementary school where she helped stuff food into backpacks for children who are struggling with food insecurity (lack of access to nutritious food) and hunger. She told me she was chatting with a school employee who shared how grateful the kids were to get this food for weekends.
