We’re seldom surprised by the generosity of the educators who win our LifeChanger of the Year awards. It’s a big reason why they were selected in the first place. But we’re always so impressed how they continue to give back time and time again.

Lessons from LifeChangers: Using Technology in the Classroom
This is part of a series of posts from nominees for our LifeChanger of the Year educator recognition program. We meet scores of fascinating LifeChangers every year who have interesting perspectives to share about children, education and life.
The LifeChanger of the Year program recently invited some of us who are nominees for the annual reward to write an essay about how we use technology in the classroom. I initially thought that was beyond my skill set. But I challenged myself to offer my thoughts with the hope that other educators will gain an idea or two about how and when to use technology. Or maybe these thoughts will cause you to step back and think about how you approach technology in your classroom in these very difficult times.

Lessons from LifeChangers: Crisis Becomes Rebirth
Today I sent emails to all of my students. Some of them have failing grades and multiple absences. I needed to give them a piece of my mind and set them straight. I pulled no punches and dropped a truth bomb. I wrote, in all caps: I BELIEVE IN YOU. I HAVE YOUR BACK! Let’s work together to get you back on track.

Lessons From LifeChangers: The Rewards of Teaching
This year is, without a doubt, a year of many firsts and a year of reflection. Everything I normally do as a teacher has had to be modified or deleted. But one thing for sure I have tried not to change is the impact I have on my students. Being an inspiring and impactful educator is why I chose the teaching profession.
