When an administrative professional comes to mind, perhaps you call forth the dated image of a secretary graciously removing your hat and coat, then furiously typing away, a loose cigarette dangling from between heavily-made-over lips (Wait, sorry, that was Mad Men. Main Street USA is about to burst into patriotic life with baseball, parades, hot dogs, fireworks – the whole shebang.
What a great time of the year and a terrific holiday to commemorate.
The 4th of July really doesn’t have all the baggage that so many holidays do. There’s no worrying about buying gifts and whether you got the right color or size or style. There aren’t religious issues to try to navigate.
It’s really just about celebrating all that makes us proud to be American. I’m not trying to be jingoistic here. We all know that there are certainly challenges that the United States still needs to resolve. But it’s also true that this is a great place to live and work and raise families and run businesses.
