Shelby Parette

Shelby is a rising junior at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York and is currently interning at National Life. She is studying Business Administration and is learning a lot at National Life.

During the school year, when she is not in the library or attending class, she is either heading to New York City for the weekend or competing on the Marist College Women’s Alpine Ski Team.

Being born and raised in Vermont, she can’t help but love the outdoors. Besides skiing, running, camping and swimming in Lake Champlain are some of her other favorite hobbies.

8 Reasons to Study Abroad

In two years, I will walk across a grand stage, in front of hundreds of people, along with 1,500 of my friends and classmates, shake a few hands and receive my college diploma. I will graduate with a B.S. in Business Administration, a concentration in Finance and a minor in Global Studies. Great… but what do all of those unnecessarily long titles really mean?
