Joy Facos
Joy joined Sentinel Investments in 2009 as a sustainable investing research analyst. Sentinel Investments is an integral part of National Life Group. As a member of the sustainable investing research team, Joy is responsible for evaluating the environmental, social, and governance (“ESG”) practices of companies considered for inclusion in Sentinel’s sustainable mutual fund. In addition to company analysis, Joy conducts in-depth research on ESG issues facing companies today.
Joy is a member of National Life Group’s Corporate Social Responsibility Committee and gets to put past music festival experience to work with National Life’s annual Do Good Fest. A Montpelier native, Joy is proud to be part of the team “up on the hill.”

PRI, ESG, SRI: It’s not just alphabet soup
We hear a lot in the media about how we should save or invest our hard-earned dollars for the future. It’s all generally great material about choosing among the mind-boggling range of options out there. The only problem? So much of it is contradictory.
But there is a framework that offers a way to think about where and how we put our money and it’s one that many studies have shown resonates with consumers. People want to be affiliated with a mission, a cause greater than themselves. A program like the UN-supported Principles for Responsible Investment, or PRI, is a great program to help frame your thinking.
